If the delay lasts six hours or more, the Domestic plan may reimburse up to $200 for reasonable additional meal and accommodation expenses after the first six hours. It may also reimburse up to $200 for each complete 24-hour period the delay continues.
Cover may also apply to prepaid, unusable and non-recoverable accommodation, flights, transfers, tours and event expenses if the disruption prevents you from reaching your next destination or connection on time.
There may also be cover under our Additional Accommodation and Travel section, for extra travel and accomodation costs you have incurred following the cancellation, delay, rescheduling or diversion of your scheduled transport.
You must first seek any refund, reimbursement or compensation available from the airline, transport provider or any other source, as the policy does not cover expenses recoverable elsewhere. There is also no cover if you miss a connecting flight or transport service where the original stopover, layover or connection shown on your itinerary was less than four hours.

You must purchase your policy before leaving your Home Area. However, it can be helpful to arrange cover soon after making your bookings because cancellation cover begins from the date the policy is issued.
Circumstances you knew about before your cover commenced are not covered. Waiting until shortly before departure may therefore mean that events affecting earlier bookings are already known and cannot be covered.

It depends on the benefit being claimed.
For Sections 1 to 5, including cancellation and disruption benefits, the benefit limits usually generally apply per adult traveller. The limits for Additional Accommodation and Travel Expenses, Family Emergency and Emergency Companion Cover are combined into one overall limit rather than applying separately to each benefit.
Most other benefit limits and excesses apply per insured person. Personal Liability, Theft of Cash and Rental Vehicle Insurance Excess have limits that apply per policy, regardless of how many insured travellers are involved.
Before you buy, read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) to understand the terms, conditions, limits and exclusions that apply to your policy.
