How does the excess work if I make a claim?

An excess is the amount you contribute if you need to make a claim.

Where to find it in the PDS: The Level of Excess That You Prefer.

Which policy should I select for a domestic cruise?

If you’re cruising within Australia:

  • You should select the Domestic Plan, and
  • Add the Cruise Pack if your cruise is two nights or more

The Cruise Pack provides additional benefits including Cabin Confinement, Missed Cruise Departure, Shore Excursion Cancellation, and more.

Are there any destinations not covered?

Regardless of the policy type, we can’t cover travel to the following destinations:

Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus

ReadySet Insurance also does not cover travel to destinations that:

  • Are under a 'Do Not Travel' advice or warning issued by the Australian Government (see Smartraveller.gov.au)  at the time you depart
  • Are not listed on your Policy Schedule
  • Involve travel on cargo ships, freighters, or sailing 10+ nautical miles from land
  • Are considered dangerous, hazardous or remote, such as Antarctica
  • Occur in international waters, unless you’re on a commercial cruise liner with the correct cover

If you travel despite any government ban, mandatory quarantine or isolation order, you will not be covered.

Travel advisories and destination warnings are issued by the Australian Government at Smartraveller.gov.au. It is your responsibility to review the latest travel advice for your destinations before and during your trip.

Important: Cover is not available for travel to destinations or areas rated as ‘Do Not Travel’ at the time of departure, or where a specific government ban, quarantine order or isolation requirement applies. Some countries may not be wholly restricted but may have restricted regions — please check specific area warnings.

Cover is subject to the terms, conditions, limits, sub-limits, and exclusions outlined in the PDS.
